those of you that have not been checking the breaks radio shows over the last month or so may not have notice im back on air. i have done a weeklu show for probally the best part of ten years, wether it was pirates and in the recent years internet radios. now back every other wendnesday from 1900-21000 GMT. check www.nsbradio.co.uk for some archive of some of the shows. im chuffed to be working with the Supercharged and ATG posse. keep a look out for some first heads up on some new releases and mixes from both of these top shelf labels

Ninelives the Cat - Funk Wire (inc Rob Reng Remix) [Brighton Breaks]

a few peeps keep asking me for this tune/remix and its release date. now professionally mastered at massive masters, and they have done a sterling job, giving both mixes a lot of beefyness and up at beatport. other sites will follow in the next few weeks for the beatport haterz https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/release/detail/138212/funk_wire this is gonna be the start of the "Ninelives season" with Vicious due to drop on West in the next few weeks, and his colaboration with the Beatmonkeys called Wu (i think) that i should be finishing off this week.

so with everyting back together i have been testing all the kit. mainly by making little sketches and sillyness in 12/8 time (more on this once its done)

anyways, now i have moved over to sx3 i can do a lot more audio editing. here was a bit of fun that i mashed together to test out how it all works.

trophy room

well its been a few months but i have been a busy bee. after house purchases have fallen through and car sales have stopped i have finally had time to take my studio out of its boxes and re set up. its had some all new front end stuff so leanring new toys can be very frustrating at times, especially when you knwowhat the hell you want to do! main change has been going "in the box" with all my hardward synths and no mixing desk. a bit odd to start but in the long run a damn sight easier to recall mixes and to use all the effects that run very well on my new quad 4. i have also said goodbye to mac and gone back to pc after 6 years of working this way. so far so good.

the trusty minimoog i restored last year still takes a good hour to warm up but onces she is going it gives off some great sounds. only issue is she will change pitch by about half and octave ever hour after that. great fun... if not a little out there

the trust tr808 and 909 combo is a little sick at the moment :-( the 808 is triggering servral noises it shouldnt. summit wrong with the kenton i guess....



the new addition of an s6000 now completes the sampler graveyard. ubs connection and the use of the 6000 wav/pc options inc drag and rop from the desktop is pretty cool. still regarded as an antiquated system by some, it works.

also the sad news of the korg monopoly is a little dead at the mo so its off to the doctors for that. i think its the volume pot and i have a spare. i had a quick look myself but looks pretty scarey in there. far past my basic soldering... i have borrowed the access virus c of a chum. its wicked and used as the main synth in my latest collab

last anbd no means least is my recent purchase of the OSCar. always loved the sound and this near mint example was picked up for a steal. its an omni synth so you need a second midi output to put it on so it does not conflict.

well it was damn fine to see some of you peeps at breakspoll, needless to say we are dead chuffed with ickle plaza picking up breakthrough dj and being nominated too. plaza dn my set will be aired on radio 1 in the next few week, tbh i cant really remember that bit as i wasa little worst for wear so dont expect much!

malestrom - makossa [rob reng remix] (west) should be available for the end of the week i recons.
also we are just finishing off the pressing of the latest brighton breaks beasty.
Rektchordz v Sam Hell - Blipvertz & Rektchordz - Boolash should be in the shops by next week. its large, infact i would go as far to say as its very large indeed.
also more east goodness to come from the aussie man audit (he had a tune out on payback wayback when) but ill save that one for the next info update

Breakspoll RAH!!!!

so its time again i can rest easy that i will not be emialed for voting for labels that i wouldnt even play anymore. the nominations are out and the moaing has commenced, ahh the joy of it all. gone are the days that a breakspoll nomination actually helped you in certain ways i feel. now its just down to the night, some good old fashion fun and of course the moaning about the results aftwards.

Congrats to ickle Plaza De Funk for the breakthrough dj and producer catagories and Maelstrom for breakthrough producer. both well deserved i feel. i sadly am not nominatied for anything this year but with 6 nominations and one win for breakthrough label in 1900ad i must not grumble. time for the new blood to shine!

Anyroads, if your going to the awards this year Plaza and myself are playing in room two, if your not, our set is being recorded for Radio 1 and will be aired in the next few weeks. im gonna stuff
Plaza up a few times buy changing his pitches whilst in the mix so he trainwrecks a few times. got to be done really.
